"Art Deco Lady", by John Knowles Hare (1884-1947), original etching of a copper plate, light cream woven paper in umber tone, original signature in pencil at lower right "J. Knowles Hare" late 1920s - early 1930s. There is also an imprint "Compliments/ Texas Pacific Coal and Oil Company."
J. Knowles Hare (1884-1947) is a known glamour print and calendar artist (though just as good with pups and kids!), usually in pastel, but also in pencils and oils. Covers for "Woman's Home Companion", "American Magazine", "This Week", "Saturday Evening Post", "Country Gentleman", "Ladies' Home Journal", "Photoplay, Modern Priscilla", "Harper's Weekly". His wife, Gladys Granger, was his main model.
