Egypt, Romano-Egyptian period, ca. 1st century BCE to 1st century CE. A mold-made votive terracotta figure of a child, probably representing Harpocrates, the child god of silence and mysteries. Also a miniature bronze amulet of a standing mummiform figure. Size of larger figure: 3.6" W (9.1 cm)

Provenance: private Schroeder collection, Boca Raton, Florida, USA, acquired before 1970

Condition
Terracotta figure is a fragment, but its face is nicely preserved. Amulet has smooth, dark green patina, and form is still clear. Loop for suspension is no longer functional due to patina.
