Description
A PAIR OF DOULTON LAMBETH STONEWARE VASES WITH SLATER PATENT DECORATION BY ARTHUR BARLOW, LONDON, ENGLAND, CIRCA 1891-1893, the baluster form vases with blue and brown glazed lip and foot centering polychrome enameled textured textile patterning on the body, impressed marks together with artist's monogram Height: 15 3/4" Diameter: 6 1/8" NOTE: Developed and patented by Doulton's Art Director John Slater (British 1844-1914) the unusual decoration of these vases was created by impressing lace fabrics into the surface of the clay.
Condition
In overall good condition with no evidence of chips, nicks, or cracks to the body, minor surface rubbing commensurate with age and use.
