CIVIL WAR ALBERT MORK JOSLYN REVOLVER & TIN TYPE B.F. Joslyn 5-Shot .44 Caliber revolver was manufactured by Joslyn Firearms Company of Stonington, Connecticut from 1861-1862. It was patented in 1958. Approximately 3000 were manufactured for the US Military during the Civil War. It has an iron trigger guard, solid frame, 5-shot cylinder, side hammer and checkered walnut grips. The serial number “2426” is marked on the flat butt cap. Matching serial number stamps can also be partially seen on other places of the gun (obstructed by parts) along with the letter “B”. It was owned by Civil War Soldier Albert Mork, from the Pittsburgh area. Mork was believed to be stationed in Ohio at the time the tin-type was produced. The tin-type shows Mork (Right) with the revolver in his belt and carrying a sword, next to a fellow soldier. ; Condition - Original bluing, early professional repair, one side of grip has been replaced
