Description
Original pencil and pigment on paper of a WW2 fighter plane. Floyd E. Johnson (b. 1909) was a member of the US Navy Reserve during WW2. A Charlottesville native, he attended UVA, later returning as instructor in Architecture before becoming a partner at Johnson, Craven & Gibson, a Charlottesville architectural firm. Johnson served in numerous local commissions and received honors for his contributions to historic preservation and related concerns. Signed lower right and dated (19)44.
