Condition
Though no overt repairs were detected by sight or touch, repairs are probable as all five pieces exhibit
apparent overglazing and regilding. Glaze, manufacturing and firing faults are found throughout,
particularly visible to the foot of each. Additional photographs are recommended of covers and feet.
Ginger jar heights with the covers on are not the same - they vary from 15" to 15-1/4".
NOTE: The garnitures are likely from the second half of the 19th century, not ca. 1700 as stated in the
catalogue description.
