American Queen Anne Cherry Bonnet-Top Chest-on-Chest

third quarter 18th century, the top with a broken-arch pediment and three flame twist finials, above a central fan-carved drawer and a smaller drawer to each side, over four graduated long drawers, the associated base fitted with four graduated long drawers, the whole raised on short Queen Anne legs.

In very good refinished and restored condition. The piece exhibits normal shrinkage, mars, wear and indications of age and use. The finish has minor rubbing, mars and wear. The brasses are replaced. Some of the drawer locks are replaced. No key present. There are chips/splinter losses to the top edge of the molding on top of the base, around the area the upper section rests on it. The base exhibits some side-to-side movement at its joints, but appears functional and adequately sturdy for continued use. Drawers slide freely. Some of the boards on the back appear to be replaced.
