Description
An Egyptian terracotta 'Reis' or Overseer ushabti, 3rd Intermediate Period, c. 1075 - 712 BC, depicted standing on integral base wearing kilt from everyday life, tripartite wig, left arm folded at mid-section, right arm pendant at side. Frontally molded with traces of white pigment, the fingerprints of the craftsman who pressed it into the mold well-preserved on the back. H: 2 5/8 in (6.7 cm). Ex R. Wilson collection, believed to have been acquired at Blanchard's in Cairo.
