Western bronze sculpture 30/200, signed by Pete Millar. It shows an indian on horseback chasing and shooting a buffalo with his bow and arrow. It measures approximately 8'' h x 4.5" w x 11.5'' l.It is not well-known that, in addition to the pen-and-ink drawings that Millar did for Rod & Custom, CARtoons, Drag Cartoons, and other publications, he produced some fine art as well. He was a skillful painter-as youÂ’d expect from studying some of his more detailed full-color magazine art-and also a very talented sculptor. MillarÂ’s bronze sculptures, ranging in height from approximately 12 to 18 inches, fill the house where his wife Orah Mae still lives. Sometimes his subjects were automotive, but more often they were based on western themes. Native Americans, in particular, were a great influence.Many of Pete MillarÂ’s biggest fans were-and are-unaware of the non-automotive, non-cartoon side of MillarÂ’s extensive talent, represented here by this small sample of extraordinary sculptures
