Description
Details: This hand written indenture dated December 7, 1752, is concerning a plot of land in the “Mannor of Cortlandt," Westchester County, New York between Sam and Frances Bayard and Joseph Sherwood. This land was bordered by land owned by Peter Thomblo, Aldoph Philipso, Andrew Johnston, Nicholas Bayard and Henry Bookman.
It is signed in witness by the John Cortlandt and Anthony Rutgers. Further signatures are Nash Fish and Gett or Geoff Bloomor
The Bayar and Cortlandt families were land owners of the New York City area in the 17th and 18th Centuries.
The document, currently framed between glass, measures approx. 30"x20". The stated shipping cost is the document removed from the frame for shipping.
