Description
An exceptionally fine iron and damascene / Japanese Zogan sectional step-back box by Otojiro Komai, (master damascene maker of Japan) Meiji era. Scenic design; Temple, pagoda, boats in water, using gold in black finished iron. Mount Fuji in silver. The interior lined in gold depicting etched iris, bamboo and lily. The underside signed with the Komai Japan mark. Closed measurement, 4-1/8" wide, 3" deep, 3" high.
