A Japanese gilt lacquer box, c.late Meiji / early Taisho period. Quatrefoil shaped box with gilt enameled Takamaki-e over gold Maki-hanashi and black lacquer. The interior and underside using Maki-e technique over black lacquer. Measures 3.25" wide, 2-78" deep,1.25" high.
