Description
Unusual Vellum glaze banded scenic vase by Ed Diers in 1907, showing two small sailing ships in rough seas, one with two figures working the sails. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 999 C, an incised V for Vellum glaze, Mr. Diers' monogram and a wheel ground X most likely due to the peppering on the top half of the vase. There is a rough drill hole, two tight lines descending from the rim and fine overall crazing. Height is 9 1/8 inches.
