Description
Classic Newcomb College carved and painted scenic vase with a full moon peeking through tall pine trees, the work of Anna Frances Simpson in 1922. Marks include the Newcomb College logo, the date code for 1922 (MH 2), impressed JM for potter Joseph Meyer, shape number 250 and the incised initials of the artist. Height 8 3/8 inches. There are a number of open glaze bubbles in the upper third of the vase including some at the rim and collar one of which is about 1/4 inch long.
