The jersey has been signed by some of the real life members of the league that inspired the iconic film, the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. The league gained recognition by the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988, and a "Women in Baseball – AAGPBL" Permanent Display was opened at the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
