Early Victorian Sterling Silver Inkstand, hallmarked London, 1842-1843, by Edward Edwards, of rounded rectangular form, with deep cavetto-canted rim and pens trays along the long sides, with a central sarcophagus-form nibs box, the lid with spherical finial and inverting to form a taperstand, flanked by square glass inkwells en suite, each with a silver collar and flat, hinged lid, h. 4-1/4", w. 8-3/4", d. 5-1/2", 16.65 t. oz. (excluding glass inkwells).
