British, second half of 19th c., 4to (8.75" x 7.25"), on smooth laid paper, brown ink, 464 pages, + 4 pages with clipped articles laid down (at end.) Period 1/2 sheep over marbled boards, ink stains to spine, rubbed, edgewear. Contents quite clean overall with some occasional light foxing. Very Good. 19th c. armorial bookplate to front pastedown, motto "Aequo Adeste Animo." ****************************** Containing: "Journal of Major George Simmons...
