Collection of (after) Prints by Giuseppe Zocchi (Italian 1711 - 1767), Titled “Views of Florence”. Plates printed by The Meriden Gravure Company, Meriden, Connecticut. Accompanying booklet printed by Thomas Todd Company, Boston, Massachusetts. Complete portfolio (facsimile) of 27 Plates (Reproduction of the 1754 Edition Scelta Di XXIV Vedute della principali Contrade, Pizze, Chiese, e Palazzi dell Citta di Firenze). This first edition reproduction is limited to 950 numbered copies of which this set is No. 84. Includes the 29-page booklet (printed in English) with notes on the individual prints. Giuseppe Zocchi was an Italian painter and printmaker, active in Florence, and best known for his vedute of the city. Prints are in excellent condition. Clamshell box is in Near Fine condition. Image size for majority of prints is 18-5/8” x 13-1/8” (47-½cm x 33-½cm). One print is significantly smaller, with the image size 8” x 13” (20-½cm x 33cm). The sheet size for all prints is 22-½” x 17-¼” (57-¼cm x 43-¾cm). Provenance: Amity Art Foundation, Inc. collection.
