Original Etching by John French Sloan (American 1871 - 1951), Book Plate with tissue cover, from The Works of Charles Paul Dekock. Caption "Poor Bidois, who had been drawn into the midst of the tumult, … received upon his nose the blow intended for the toymaker." stamped in tissue cover of print. "Copyright 1902 by The Fredrick J. Quinby Company" printed above image, center. Image size 3-¾" x 5-½", sheet size 8-½" x 5-½". Etching near mint condition, right edge of sheet has damage from book removal. Unframed, loose and not glued or mounted. Provenance: Amity Art Foundation, Inc. collection.
