**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Central Asia, Indus River Valley, Mehrgarh, ca. 2600 to 2500 BCE. A hand-built terracotta figure of a slender seated fertility goddess. She sits with both legs together and with a single upraised foot, and has wide hips and a thin torso. Her bent arms hold aloft characteristically-enormous breasts, and she wears an equally-impressive dotted pectoral with three disc-shaped ornaments on either side of and in between her bosoms. Her visage is comprised of two large recessed eyes, a flat protruding nose, and a wide forehead covered with a lengthy headband and a pinched cap on the verso. Size: 3" H (7.6 cm).
