Pre-Columbian, Western Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery figure of a flat presentation standing upon a pair of attenuated legs. A broad chest displays two diminutive arms with accompanying arm bands, a large pectoral dangling from a bifurcated necklace, discoid additions beneath each arm, and finely-incised decorative striations. The elongated head exhibits a minimalist visage comprised of an ovoid mouth and pair of eyes with a central incision, an enormous nose with decorative nose ring, an arching headband with five applied ornaments, and an incised coiffure covered with a ringed headdress. Presented in a deep-red hue, this is a fabulous example from the ancients of Western Mexico! Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 4.875" W x 9.25" H (12.4 cm x 23.5 cm); 9.5" H (24.1 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
Repairs to left arm, area of nose ring, and forehead just above eyes with some resurfacing and stabilization material along break lines. Age-commensurate surface wear and abrasions, small nicks to feet and arms, with light discoloration. Light earthen deposits within recessed areas, and scattered mineral deposits.
