California Institute of Technology Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA) 1962 Mariner 2 Fact Sheet and Scientific Experiments, Directly From The Armstrong Family Collectionâ„¢, Certified and Encapsulated by Collectibles Authentication Guaranty. Two pages. 8.5" x 11", dated August 15, 1962. Mariner 2 was a space probe to Venus, the first robotic space probe to conduct a successful planetary encounter. The fact sheet gives the technical specifications for the vehicle; the second page lists six experiments the mission hoped to accomplish. Some light toning to the paper, otherwise in excellent condition. Sealed in a numbered archival holder. This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
