18th c. Chased Repousse Silver Replica of 17th c. Vase engraved "MDCXV, FORS AEQUA MERENTES RESPECIT" (1615, a just fortune attends the deserving), a Publius Papanius Statius quote used to commemorate the 1615 examination of Thomas Campion, featuring three Romanesque portrait faces, possibly Irish, with multiple maker's mark stamp "CM" with asterisk near top outside rim on near base rim, needle engraved "AWT" on underside, 15 1/4" high, 6 1/2" diam., 36.55 ozt. Good condition.
