Description
Fine Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Cream Pitcher, attributed to S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with tooled shoulder and flared collar, the surface covered in a cream-colored slip, decorated with splashed copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Exceptional color and condition, retaining a brilliant luster to the surface. Potted in a slightly larger size than most examples of this form. Excellent condition with a small in-the-firing contact mark to handle and some minor wear. H 7".
