1825 John Quincy Adams State of the Union Broadsheet
1825-Dated, Early Presidential State of the Union Printed Broadsheet, entitled: “President’s Message” by John Quincy Adams to Both Houses of Congress, Washington, December 7, 1825, Very Fine.
Wonderful original early State of the Union type Broadsheet, containing John Quincy Adam’s message, “transmitted by the hands of Mr. J. Adams, Junior,” measures about 11.5” x 19.25”, 1 page, front & back. Published on or around December 9, 1825, as noted by the two tiny articles on the 2nd page after the President’s message. This historic address was given to Congress on December 6, 1825. It reads, in part:

“In taking a general survey of the concerns of our beloved country, with reference to subjects interesting to the common welfare, the first sentiment which impresses itself upon the mind is of gratitude to the Omnipotent Disposer of All Good for the continuance of the signal blessings of His providence, and especially for that health which to an unusual extent has prevailed within our borders, and for that abundance which in the vicissitudes of the seasons has been scattered with profusion over our land.... And may He who searches the hearts of the children of men prosper your exertions to secure the blessings of peace and promote the highest welfare of your country.”

Very Fine condition with some scattered minor spots, fine paper thin at top left margin with untrimmed rough outer margins, with selvage paper loss in lower right corner not affecting text. Scarce and would present nicely matted and framed for display.
