Description
18th century AD. A matched pair of gold earrings, each comprising: a hinged hoop with discoid frame to the front on which is placed a floral motif formed of a central discoid plaque with pearl in a prong setting, from which extends four rods, each with a pearl bead, between the beads a leaf-shaped plaques with incised detail; a cross pendant suspended from the hoop formed with four pearl beads alternating with leaf-shaped plaques. 6.79 grams total, 44mm (1 3/4"). Property of a North London gentleman; previously in a UK collection formed in the 1980s. []
