Raymond Naha Acrylic on Paper Shalako Kachina Painting, 20th century, depicting a dancing Shalako Kachina, signed on the face and titled on verso.
Dimensions are: image - 11" wide X 17" tall, overall - 16 1/4" wide X 22 1/4" tall. All measurements are approximate.
Dimensions are: sight size - 16 3/4“ tall X 10 3/4“ wide, while the frame measures 22 1/4“ tall X 16 1/4“ wide X 1" deep. All measurements are approximate. Artist Biography: Raymond Naha (1933 – 1975) is a Native American, Hopi-Tewa artist who was born at Polacca. He studied with Fred Kabotie at Oraibi High School who encouraged him to continue his studies. Naha then took correspondence courses and studied at the Phoenix Indian School. Naha specialized in depictions of Hopi ceremonial and daily life including group dancing and intimate family moments. His works are often characterized by his use of vibrant colors on dark backgrounds. In 1962, Naha was recognized with an award by the Indian Arts Fund in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
