FREE-BLOWN AND PRESSED CANDLESTICK, colorless, deep, gallery-rim socket raised on a hollow, inverted pyriform knop and large quatrefoil base with eight-lobe stem and five-step foot with interior prisms, ringed wafer construction. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and others. 1830-1840. 10 1/4" H, 5 3/8" DOA base.
Near proof, base with a vertical chip to edge of one corner, several light flakes to lower edge, and shallow chip to underside.
Literature: Base as Barlow/Kaiser - The Glass Industry in Sandwich, Vol. 4, p. 44, fig. 4013.
