Description
Of baluster shape with ovoid body flanked by a pair archaistic dragon handles each suspending a loose ring, rising to a waisted neck to a flared dish mouth rim, all on a splayed base supported on three horned monster mask feet, the body painted all around with meandering lotus scrolls set between lappet bands, the mouth decorated with ruyi band and the foot encircled with a band of crashing waves, a five-character mark 'Kun Níng Gong Jìchì' written in a line on the neck, the base inscribed with a six-character Dao-Kuang mark, fitted with a tall bell shaped cover with a round finial, 15.8 inch high. Provenance: Estate of Professor Daniel Lee, Annapolis, Maryland, by descent.
