Description

From the personal files of Marilyn Monroe: A two-page letter dated April 13, 1959, from John F. Wharton of the Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison law firm advising Monroe of several foundations providing assistance to children in need of psychiatric care. Interestingly, the first entity listed in the letter is the Anna Freud Foundation, which was a recipient of proceeds from Monroe’s estate following her death. In her will, Monroe bequeathed a portion of her estate to Dr. Marianne Kris. Kris later willed her portion of the Monroe estate to the Anna Freud Centre in London.
