LYNN FAUSETT (AMERICAN, 1894-1977) UTAH LANDSCAPE PAINTING oil on masonite, light breaking on a valley farm with snow-capped peaks in the distance, titled "Spring comes to the Foothills" on period label pasted verso, signed lower right. Housed in likely original carved and painted frame. Second quarter 20th century. 17 1/2" x 23 1/2" sight, 22 1/2" x 28 1/2" OA.
Very good overall condition with very minor abrasion to sky. Frame with minor wear.
Catalogue Note: A Utah native, Lynn Fausett (1894-1977) and younger brother, William Dean Fausett, were known for their work as muralists in Utah as well as New York City, often depicting Western scenes involving Mormon history. Lynn also served in the 9th Service Command of the US Army during World War II, where he received the Meritorious Service Award.
