ZULEIMA BRUFF JACKSON (AMERICAN, 1843-1915) LANDSCAPE PAINTING watercolor on paper, probably a Virginia or Maryland scene, an autumnal view of a country lane with split-rail fence and farmhouse on a hill in the distance, signed and dated lower left. Housed under glass in a modern frame. 1908. 5 7/8" x 9 5/8" sight, 10 3/8" x 14 1/8" OA.
Painting in very good visual condition with minor discoloration. Frame with minor wear. Not examined out of frame.
Catalogue Note: A Washington, DC native, Zuleima Bruff Jackson (1843-1915) was taught by her father, Joseph Goldsborough Bruff. She married John Jackson, a Danish immigrant who rose to the rank of brevet major in the United States Army.
