Circa 1890, signed "Walker & Hall England" and marked "Dragon of Wantley",an important silver plate cigar lighter modeled as a fire breathing dragon, with antelope horn body and tail, this style of lighter designed to remain burning on the after the dinner table, the finely detailed dragon with head which turns to accommodate people on different sides of table, often made for a military mess hall, wand designed as an arrow and mounted on a wooden base. Base has plaque which reads "Presented to BT Colonel H.C. Hawkins, MCTD by his Brother Officers on the Expiration of his Service with the 6th Glamorgan by the Welch Regiment", very good condition, tarnished, 7.5" x 18"
