Description
A NEAR PAIR OF VICTORIAN PERIOD PAPIER MÂCHÉ AND TURNED WOOD STANDS, CIRCA 1870-1880, the black painted tripod foot turned standards with scalloped rim papier mâché tops, one shallow with mother-of-pearl inlaid gilt highlighted floral decoration, the other with deep well and gilt highlighted painted floral decoration, each fitted with cast gilt metal foliate swing handles. Height: 24 3/4" Diameter: 13 1/2"
Condition
In overall fair condition, the bases repainted, rubbing to painted floral decoration, gilt metal handles loose.
