A NEAR PAIR OF VICTORIAN PERIOD PAPIER MÂCHÉ AND TURNED WOOD STANDS, CIRCA 1870-1880, the black painted tripod foot turned standards with scalloped rim papier mâché tops, one shallow with mother-of-pearl inlaid gilt highlighted floral decoration, the other with deep well and gilt highlighted painted floral decoration, each fitted with cast gilt metal foliate swing handles. In overall fair condition, the bases repainted, rubbing to painted floral decoration, gilt metal handles loose.
