Pair of green Guangxu porcelain lidded cups with a deep curvature flaring upwards to a slightly everted lip and a short foot base. Green scale patterns painted across the surface with contrasting orange dragons flowing in majestic fashion grasping flaming pearls. Underbase and countersunk top with Guangxu vertical six characters reign mark in underglaze, Qing Dynasty.

PROVENANCE:
James Barnes (1939-2016) of Memphis, TN; survived by two sisters who have decided to sell some of his treasured collections to fund charitable foundations that he was actively involved in. These collections were inherited from his Father-in-law (Kenneth Harlin) at his passing in 1967. Mr. Harlin had an early film career in the 1920-1930s as an international traveler he was able to bring back treasures from around the world.
