Spanish Colonies, ca. 1620 CE. A silver maravedi (maravedis, maravedies, maravedises) coin, an ancient form of currency brought to Spain by the Moors. In the Spanish Colonial world, they were the smallest form of currency. This early example has been set into a modern 14K gold pendant. Size: 1.6" W (4.1 cm); total weight: 6.8 grams
