Vasily Borbobiev (Russian, active 20th century), lithograph in colors depicting the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius in winter, inscribed in Cyrillic 'Zagorsk Troitze Sergieva Lavra,' in pencil at lower left, numbered '22/40' in pencil at lower center, inscribed in Cyrillic 'made in 1991 from serial "Architectural historical antiquities"' in pencil at lower center and artist signed in Cyrillic 'V. Borobiev' in pencil at lower left, 14.25"h x 18.25"w, unframed. The Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius is a monastery dating from the 14th century and is considered the spiritual center of the Russian Orthodox church and was added to the UN World Heritage list in 1993. Sergiyev Posad, where the monastery is located, is one of the cities included in the 'Golden Ring' northeast of Moscow.
