Description

Collection of two Victorian glass garniture vanity sets including:
One with hand painted Continental Bristol white opaline glass and Wilcox Silver Plate Company (Meriden, Connecticut, founded 1865) stand
The other of unusual form with opaque enameled glass and gilt metal stand
One engraved to the front of stand "H. to W", underside with maker's mark "WILCOX SILVER PLATE CO" surrounding crossed hammers, "QUADRUPLE PLATE" around top and pattern number "1764", scent bottles numbered underside polished pontil "5" and "6"
The other with scent bottles numbered "1" and "19"
Approx. height 11.5", width 10", depth 3.75" (Wilcox), approx. height 11.5", width 10.12" (opaque enameled set)

Condition

Overall with oxidation to silverplate and gilt metal components. Also with surface scratches and handling wear, commensurate with placing bottles in stand. Scattered loss to enamel.
