Central Europe, late Bronze Age, ca. 1300 to 700 BCE. A collection of 47 rare bronze beads of assorted styles, strung on a modern cord. This includes several spiral-shaped beads, several globular beads with bulging equators, and a few unique ones - rounded with incised diamond patterns, bell-shaped, openwork, and double spool shaped. Beads of this style would have served as a form of wearable currency, and would have been placed into graves with their owners so that they could take their wealth into the afterlife. An interesting and unique collection! Largest bead (spiral): 2" W (5.1 cm); most are closer to 1" W (2.5 cm). Length of chain: 40" L (101.6 cm)

Many of the beads are in a fragmentary state, especially the spirals. Light deposits on surface. Several of the hollow beads have small holes in them from corrosion. Pale turquoise patina on each.
