A traditional beggar's bowl, Kashkul, used to collect food and monetary alms by dervish ascets.Made of hand hammered and tooled brass, with an intricate, reticulated ornamentation throughout. Scenes on both sides of the bowl with figures surrounded by rams and birds on either side.Crescent form.Original chain, as well as the original custom-fitting tin liner, are retained.Antique, Indo-Persian, Qajar period, 19th century.Measurements: Approx. 12.5" x 6.75" x 4.5" overall, 16" high with chain.
