Author: Charles Leslie - Charles Leslie was an Anglican nonjuring divine. Leslie was a former Church of Ireland priest who became a leading Jacobite propagandist after the 1688 Glorious Revolution. One of a small number of Irish Protestants to actively support the Stuarts after 1688, he is best remembered today for his role in publicising the 1692 Massacre of Glencoe.

Book Details: This antique volume is bound in full leather with stamped boards and raised spine. A stated fifth edition the title page bears the phrase, "For their Rock is not as out Rock, even out Enemies themselves being Judges. Deut. xxxii. 31." The work is often accredited to Charles Leslie, but there is no author stated on this work. The work contains "A Conversation Betwixt an English Roman Catholick Nobleman, and a Gentleman His Friend of the Church of England"; "Ex Bullario Laetii Cherubini, Romae, 1638. Tom. III. P. 183"; and the title "The Proceedings of the Parliament of Paris, upon the Pope's Ball, Concerning the Franchise in the City of Rome, and the following Ordinance of the 26th of December, 1687."
Condition / Notes: This antique volume shows moderate signs of external age and wear with a partially separated rear board, as well as rubbing to the boards and spine. The endpapers have been replaced at some point in time. The binding is otherwise sound, and the text is clear through moderate age toning/foxing.
