Description
Antique Jardiniere planter or centerpiece. Made of embossed brass with deep repousse relief ornamentation all over. Displays a repeating pattern of a flower-picking scene with three figures in fancy costume, with a town and cathedral in the background. Inscribed above each scene in block letters - BOURDON. The view is from the small town of Bourdon, Somme in northern France. Lavish foliate ornamentation throughout. Original tin inside liner is retained. Oval form, four claw feet.
