Oswaldo Guayasamin (Ecuadorian, 1919-1999) attributed: gouache on paper, signed, framed. Oswaldo Guayasamin was an Ecuadorian master painter and sculptor of Quechua and Mestizo heritage who started painting at the young age of 6 years old. His style combines elements of both cubism and expressionism. Guayasamin's work frequently and honestly addressed the many social and political issues of the 20th century, a century marked by world wars, civil wars, genocides, dictatorships and torture for many.
