BIO:Vicente García de Paredes (Valencia 1845 - Paris, after 1903), who excelled in genre painting. Many of his works became enormously popular. This is due to the reproductions that were made of them in European illustrated publications. Among them are some watercolors reproduced in Le Monde Ilustré.He began his training as a painter at the School of Fine Arts of San Carlos where he was born. Later he moved to Madrid to make copies of paintings in the Prado Museum.Among his prizes, he highlights the bronze medal at the Fine Arts Exhibition in Valencia. Later he travels to Rome where he will paint oriental theme. Later he lived in Paris where he will make works of art of another different theme. These are the so-called "casacas" works.I mostly work with oil and watercolor as art disciplines. They are scenes of rooms furnished in the style of Louis XV. In his drawing elegant characters are represented with a fine brushstroke and pastel tones.He was a great painter of the art of watercolor of the School of Spanish Painting of the 19th century. Due to his mastery he exhibited his watercolors in the Circulo de Bellas Artes. He was also a regular at the Watercolor Society of Paris.ATTENTION: The auction is in USD (US Dollars).
