Book Details: This antique volume is bound by blue cloth covered boards with the title emblazoned amidst an intricate gilt illustration on the spine. A frontispiece portrait of Winfield Hancock and three additional illustrations enhance the text.

The text tells the story of Winfield Scott Hancock (14 February 1824 – 9 February 1886), a career U.S. Army officer and the Democratic nominee for President of the United States in 1880. Hancock served with distinction in the Army for four decades, including service in the Mexican–American War and as a Union general in the American Civil War.
Condition / Notes: THis antique volume shows well with some indications of age and wear, including shelfwear and rubbing. The binding and text block are firm. Text and illustrations are clear and legible through mild age toning. There is minor evidence of moisture to the outer lower portion of the text block and inner front board.
