**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, Northwest Mexico, Chihuahua, Casa Grande, ca. 19th century CE. A polychrome terracotta olla with a large, bulbous, and round-bottomed body, a gently flaring neck, and two small pierced handles. The body displays a variety of colorful designs including checkerboard patterns, tightly-coiled snakes with slender heads, abstract linear and geometric motifs, and minimalist avian-headed figures, all painted in hues of black and red on top of a creamy beige ground. Size: 5.25" W x 5.5" H (13.3 cm x 14 cm).
Provenance: private Healy collection, Studio City, California, USA, acquired over the last twenty years
