Early Fanny Clark decorated stoneware dish in cobalt and ocher.
Featuring the four-tower shape favored by many Doulton stoneware artists during the late 19th century's gothic revival phase, this open salt features intricate carvings with stylus decorations and variegated polychrome glazing for its time, a signature of Senior decorator Fanny Clark's style, and her mark can be found on the bottom. Dated 1876 and stamped Doulton Lambeth.
