A great collection of ribbons and medals, primarily relating to the July 4, 1900 Democratic Convention held in Kansas City, Missouri. Notable about the event is that the great Kansas City Convention Hall, originally opened February 22, 1899 was completely destroyed by fire on April 4 of 1900. Te great hall was rebuilt in just 90 days in time for the previously scheduled Democratic National Convention. This collection includes clean and fine examples, a large ribbon trimmed in silver bullion with embroidery and celluloid plaques, a census official badge, a Whitehead Hoag pin with eagle surmount and celluloid button in mint condition, a lithographed tin portrait pin of Republican President William McKinley, a rare celluloid pin-back button made by 'Bullard & Moore Button Makers 1116 Main St. Kansas City USA', a paper Guest's Ticket.
