Description
Antique spirits decanter, made of free blown clear glass. Original stopper, crown form. Scandinavian in origin, dates back to the 1800's. Characteristic pulled "hourglass" form, known as a Klukflaske, or a Kluk Kluk (kluck) bottle. It is named so due to the sound it makes when liquid is poured from it. It is a variation of a Gourgelette, similar to a German "kuttrolf" flask. Due to it's specific and characteristic form, there has been a revival in producing these bottles by famous Danish designers and glass-makers in the early/mid 20th century. However, this is an original and antique specimen from the 19th century, evident from the manner of manufacture, organic quality and signs of age. Cut and polished pontil on underside. Measurements: Approx. 9.75" high with stopper, 7.75" bottle only, the body is 3.5" x 3.5" | See our special $5 starting bid lots at the end of this auction! No Reserve, No Buyer's Premium!
