This volume, by renowned playwright William Shakespeare, tells the story of two star- crossed lovers destined for doom. Chromolithograph illustrations painted by Ludovic Marchetti, Lucius Rossi and Oreste Cortazzo appear throughout the text. This is a rare Raphael Tuck and Sons title, from the noted and collected publisher of Victorian chromolithograph books.
Condition / Notes: This antique title shows well with some typical indications of age and wear, including shelfwear and mild soiling. The front board is detached from the text block, as is the front free endpaper. The text block is cracked, however it remains intact. The chromolithographs show beautifully, retaining their vibrant coloration. A presentation inscription appears on the front free endpaper.
